Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University

(KKHSOU)

The Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) Centre in Digboi College was set up in 2010 and the Centre has been conducting following programmes:

  • Bachelor of Preparatory Programme (BPP)
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) programmes in semester system
  • Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed) :Digboi College has been conducting a two years diploma course of KKHSOU for newly appointed (TET qualified) school teachers. During 2013-14 two workshops namely “ School Culture and Teachers Identity ” (from 02-07-2013 to 13-07-2013) and towards understanding the self (from 20-07-2013 to 31-07-2013) were organised where 54 and 98 teacher trainees attended.
  • Induction Programme: Digboi College successfully conducted one induction programme from 20-12-2013 to 10-01-2014 (three week duration) for the deputed teachers of Tinsukia district. A total of 109 teacher trainees attended the programme.

  • Optional Subjects: (any two): Political Science, Economics and Education

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (General)

Master Degree Progammes:

(a) M.A. in English,             (b) M.A. in Political Science,

(c)  M.A. in Education,        (d) M.A. in Economics,

(e)  M.A. in Assamese,         (f) M.A./M.Sc. in Mathematics.

PG Diploma programme:

Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication (PGDJMC)

Dibrugarh University Distance Education Study Centre:

Limited intake capacity of the college and economic compulsion of many aspirants for higher education has kept a large section of students outside the domain of University education. In the backdrop of this, with a view to offer a plat form for the higher education aspirants of the catchment area, Digboi College has introduced the following programmes of Distance Mode of Study under Dibrugarh University from the session 2012-13.
