Digboi College NCC unit has already completed 25 glorious years of its existence. Tireless efforts of the cadets of this unit destined to have attained certain peaks of excellences towards the motto of nation building under strict self-discipline and high determination. The cadets are trained under this unit so as to face every challenge that may occur on the journey towards achieving the very ideals of national unity, brotherhood & progress of our country. Our cadets have represented Republic Day Camp, New Delhi, attended “Youth Exchanges Programme” to other nations like – Canada, Bangladesh, Bhutan etc.
Moreover, our NCC cadets are involved in various community development schemes like tree plantation, adult education, cycle expedition from time to time. SUO Dharaj Pandey of our college have achieved ‘Bir Chilarai Award’ with cash Rs 25,000/- & a gold medal from the Govt. of Assam.
The services & dedication of our cadets towards social upliftmen & commitment highly commendable & pride to the college. 158 students of our college having NCC backgrounds have already got employment like Signal Officer, Warrant Officer etc. in various departments of the Govt. in the last few years.
On 26-11-2012 Digboi College NCC has organised a voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Digboi College. 25 NCC Cadets of the college donated their blood. Officials of Blood Bank, Assam Medical College & Hospital, Dibrugarh collected the blood and distributed certificates to the donors.
On 29-09-2013 a blood donation camp was organised by 26 Assam (I) Coy in collaboration with Digboi College where 52 NCC cadets and students of the college donated their blood. Three girl students also donated blood. Digboi College has received a certificate from Blood Bank, AMC&H, Dibrugarh for being the 3rd highest contributor of voluntary blood donation in the year 2013-14 in North Eastern Region of India.
Two of our NCC cadets, Sri Yogeswar Yadav and Sukhraj Thakuria participated in the RD parade at Rajpath, Delhi on 26-01-2014.
Digboi College encourages its students to join the movement dedicated to enriching education by presenting a holistic vision of Indian culture. The college has joined the SPICMACAY (Society for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) in 1999. A number of performances of the great Indian Classical Maestros for school and college students were held in the college.
The students of the college can participate in the cultural activities during college weeks, different occasions and inter-college competitions.
The college has a in campus big playground and an indoor stadium (nearing completion) with all modern facilities. Various events of athletics, cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, weight lifting and body building etc. are often organised in the college.
Digboi College Students’ Union organises Annual College Week every year. The students participate in Sports, Debate, Drama, Quiz, Dance, Music etc. during the week. It provides a platform to all the students to showcase their talents.
Students are encouraged to participate in inter college sports meet and different events of youth meet organised by the Dibrugarh University from time to time.
