SUMMARY:Prakton Xikyarthire Ontorongo Alaap
DESCRIPTION:  \n4th  November 2022: \nOn November 4\, 2022\, the Centre for Performing Arts\, Digboi College\, and Kuhok Theatrical Society organized a program titled “Prakton Xikyarthire Ontorongo Alaap” and invited renowned ad film and film producer Sri Bijoy Dowerah to the college campus to deliver a special talk on his life journey thus far. The ‘Prakton Xikyarthire Ontorongo Alaap’ is a unique forum where distinguished alumni of Digboi College are invited to address the student body and encourage them to strive harder in life. \nHis 90-minute presentation\, titled ‘Journey without Destination\,’ eloquently detailed his journey from Digboi to Mumbai and how he established his company\, ‘Complete Films\,’ in Bollywood. The visitor detailed his interactions with Bollywood stars such as Amitabh Bachchan\, A.R. Rahman\, Shahrukh Khan\, and others. Dowerah\, also an accomplished lyricist\, shared some of his life-altering experiences with prominent vocalists such as Zubeen Garg\, Jitul Sonowal\, Udit Narayan\, Kumar Sanu\, Kavita Krishnamurti\, and others. \n  \nOver one hundred students\, faculty members\, and media professionals attended the program\, which was led by Dr. Samrat Samrat Bharadwaj (Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce and Convenor of the Centre for Performing Arts). The programme was opened by Dr. Dip Saikia\, who was accompanied by H. N. Sarmah (President of the Digboi College Board of Governors) and Dilip Bhattacharjee (Former President\, Governing Body\, Digboi College). SUMMARY:400th Birth Anniversary of Lachit Borphukan
DESCRIPTION:  \n23rd: 24th  November 2022:: \nDigboi College has marked the occasion of the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit Borphukan by celebrating Lachit Diwas in a befitting manner for two days. \n23rd November 2022: \nA Cultural program to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bir Lachit Borphukan was organized at the college Auditorium from 1.00 pm. \n\nhttp://www.digboicollege.edu.in/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Courascompress.mp4\nThe program started with Faculty members presenting one of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s immortal number- “MANUHE MANUHOR BABE” in the form of a chorus. This was followed by the inaugural speech of the principal Dr. Dip Saikia who gave a comprehensive account of Lachit Borphukan. \nhttp://www.digboicollege.edu.in/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/mrinalGogoi_lecture_compress.mp4\nDr. Mrinal Gogoi\, Associate Professor\, Department of Assamese\, who was the distinguished speaker for the occasion\, gave a critical analysis of the political as well as cultural background before and during the Saraighat war\, highlighting the role of Lachit Borphukan. Mr. Karuna Phukan\, Assistant Professor Department of Economics\, gave an account of the life of Lachit Borphukan and his contribution to Assam. Miss Nikita Sharma\, General Secretary\, Digboi College Students Union\, too delivered a speech on Lachit Borphukan. \nPoems on Lachit Borphukan were recited by Dr. Sangita Baruah Saikia\, Associate professor\, Department of Geography\, Miss Bhaswati Talukdar\, Assistant Professor\, Department of Philosophy\, Mr. Prakash Saikia\, Head Assistant\, and Rinki Likson\, Student of Digboi College. \nA duet song was performed by Mr. Jitu Borah\, Assistant professor\, Department of Political Science and Mr. Suraj Hajong\, Assistant professor\, Department of Economics. An instrumental piece on Bhupen Hazarika’s another famous song- “BRISTINNO PARORE …” was played on the mouth organ by Nayanjyoti Moran\, Student\, Digboi College . A beautiful dance performance was given by Sampriti Borthakur\, Student\, Digboi College. A drama performance was given by Kandarpa Gogoi\, Anupam Mech\, Raktim Boruah\, Nandita Dutta and Rinki Likson who are all students of Centre for Performing Arts. \n   \nThe cultural program was followed by a prize distribution ceremony of the Essay Competition held on the occasion of Lachit Borphukan.The program ended with an open Quiz on “ LAchit Borphukan” where both teachers and students participated.
