SUMMARY:Celebration of International Women's Day 2024
DESCRIPTION:8th March 2024: \nOn 08th March 2024\, Digboi College Women Welfare Cell (DCWWC) in association with Digboi College Student’s Union (DCSU) and IQAC\, Digboi College has celebrated International Women’s Day\, 2024 with the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”. The occasion was honored with the presence of keynote speaker Dr. Swati Kiran\, Assistant Professor\, Department of Assamese\, Dibrugarh University. She has delivered a talk on “Emotional and Mental health of Women and Indian Society”. \n   \n The celebration was also embarked with two days celebration. On 05/03/2024\, essay competition was held (Topic: Feminism vs Pseudofeminism)\, Elocution competition (Topic: Unshackling the stereotypes-Womenhood) in both Assamese and English language and Cricket competition for female students. On 06/03/2024\, brain hurdle walk was organized for students\, faculties and non-teaching staff.  \n \nThe results of the competition are as follows:\nEssay competition (English)\nFirst: Sanjukta Baul; Second: Paridhi Verma; Third: Aditi Deb \n  \nEssay competition (Assamese)\nFirst: Cherich Taye; Second: Nisha Debnath; Third: Karina Chetry \nElocution competition \nFirst: Kaushik Kumar Choudhury; Second: Angana Bordoloi & Aditi Deb; Third: Shayanika Bhattacharjee \nCricket competition– Winner\nGorima Sahu\, Nilakshi Buragohain\, Tanushree Baruah\, Manuni Chakma\, Priyanka Rana\, Ankita Gupta\, Namrata Aryal\, Priya Devi\, Nikita Dutta\, Barsha Dutta\, and Bharati Deori. \nCricket competition- Runner-up\nDeboshi Dutta\, Jharna Subedi\, Prity Kumari\, Doli Sonowal\, Chital Dhital\, Tina Gogoi\, Anjita Sarmah\, Manti Mandal\, Surina Chakma\, Gila Sonar\, and Anjali Kumar Singh. \nHurdle walk- Students\nFirst: Kaushik Kr.
